Awareness
Talks in schools and universities, walkathons and cyclothons, and working with public figures and on social media to put soil in front of people who have never thought about it.
Coming soon
The World Soil Organization works with governments, farmers and communities to restore life to agricultural land. Our full website is on its way. Leave your email and we'll let you know when it's ready.
Our mission
At least 3–6% organic matter in agricultural soil, everywhere.
Organic matter is what keeps soil alive. It holds water, feeds the microbes that feed our crops and keeps carbon in the ground. Decades of intensive farming have worn it down across much of the world's farmland.
Bringing it back is slow, practical work. It needs farmers, policymakers and the public pulling in the same direction, because the health of our soil decides the future of our food, our water and life itself.
Our plan
We work on three fronts at once. Each one depends on the other two.

01
Talks in schools and universities, walkathons and cyclothons, and working with public figures and on social media to put soil in front of people who have never thought about it.

02
Petitions, and sitting down with ministers and officials to push for soil-friendly policy at national and international level.

03
Backing regenerative and organic farming, tree planting and farmer workshops, and helping farmers earn carbon credits for the soil they restore.
Our founder
In May 2022, at 16, Sahil Jha set off from home on a bicycle to talk to people about soil. Since then he has ridden through 15 countries on three continents for the Save Soil movement, meeting farmers, students, ministers and UN officials along the way.
WSO grew out of those conversations. It gives the work a permanent home, so that what started as one person's ride can keep going long after the ride ends.
We're building WSO's website, programmes and partnerships now. Sign up and we'll email you when we launch, along with occasional news from the field. Nothing more.
